WRLDBLDR

 

WRLDBLDR is a World Creation Engine constructing artistic simulations of unique fragments of the unknown universe. Each simulation renders a digital visual parallel to narrative context. As simulations are completed, they are archived and shared, expanding our known universe.

This artistic identity has pushed me to explore digital art across a variety of mediums and to expand my digital toolkit: 3D design, animation, character and environment design, and game design.

Films

WRLDBLDR has produced two animated, fully CGI short films. From the writing, modeling, scene building, shading, rendering, editing and post effects, these projects push me to learn new skills, techniques and treatments.

 

EXATLAS

When a powerful god is suddenly woken from a multi-billion year hibernation they waste no time fulfilling their cosmic service; to collect rare elements and redistribute them across the universe, upholding life elsewhere at the cost of their own being.

Productive intentions often lead to destructive actions. Is there space between creation and extinction?

RUN

First there was one, then a dozen and then hundreds and thousands more. As the monoliths appeared in greater numbers and in increasingly unexpected places — neighborhoods, parks, highways — the panic began to set in. “What are the monoliths telling us? What’s coming next?” Humanity expected a foreign, interstellar arrival; that the monoliths were preparing for visitors. No one had anticipated that the monoliths were preparing for earth’s departure. And when that became clear, there was nowhere to run.

Digital Art

In-between the longer, more complex projects like films and game design, WRLDBLDR captures new worlds in digital stills paired with a narrative background. Created in just a few hours, these pieces challenge me to quickly explore attributes such as composition, lighting, materials and imagination.

Game Design

By far the longest, most complex project I’ve ever taken on; solo developing a video game in the Unreal Engine. Following the WRLDBLDR art direction, our hero adventures through unique corners of the universe as they search for their origin. This project has been “secret-ish” from the beginning but I’ll be sharing more soon.
